The Laramie Railroad Depot Launches Completely Revamped Website That Features New Train Webcams, History, and More| Wyoming Website Design

Laramie, Wyoming – The Laramie Railroad Depot, a national historic place and hub for the community, just announced the launch of its newly designed website at www.laramiedepot.org designed by Seneca Creek Studios. The completely revamped website features two new live webcam feeds of the rails, a full history of the Depot and heritage park, public online railroad archives, an easier way to book museum tours, and a general improved functionality. The Laramie Railroad Depot worked closely with Allison Pluda of Seneca Creek Studios, a local photography and design studio also located in historic downtown Laramie, to re-design the website to better serve the community and highlight the unique gem the Depot already is, both historically and culturally. “I am honored to be able to create a new website for the Laramie Railroad Depot, especially since personally I have had so many great memories over the years at the Depot,” said designer Allison Pluda of Seneca Creek Studios. “It feels good to be able provide a better website experience for such a unique and valuable asset to downtown Laramie.”

The new website is launched just in time before Union Pacific’s historic steam locomotives, Big Boy No. 4014 and the Living Legend No. 844, will be stopping at the Depot this month to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad’s completion. View the schedule and times of when both trains will be at the Laramie Historic Railroad Depot on their new website www.laramiedepot.org.

The Laramie Railroad Depot’s new website will be regularly updated with news and events. Visitors and train enthusiasts alike are encouraged to explore the new website, read about the Depot’s history, and sign up for the Laramie Railroad Depot’s new mailing list as well to receive direct emails.

About the Laramie Railroad Depot

The Laramie Railroad Depot was built in 1924 to replace the town’s original Union Pacific Depot/Hotel that was destroyed by fire in 1917.  It served as Laramie’s Union Pacific passenger depot until 1971 and as an Amtrak depot until 1983. In 1985, the Union Pacific Railroad gave the Depot to the Laramie Plains Museum, which then transferred ownership to the Laramie Railroad Depot Association in 2009.

The Depot is the only remaining building left from the once large Union Pacific presence in Laramie and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The railroad is the reason for the City’s original existence, and the Depot is an important part of Laramie’s historic legacy.

The building houses a museum of railroad memorabilia and is used for various community functions such as music concerts, art exhibits and public meetings. The building is also used to raise revenue to maintain itself through rentals for weddings, banquets and other events.
